I started the Be Hip and Healthy blog as a source of inspiration to anyone and everyone who is looking to live a fun and fabulous life, especially anyone (like me) who sometimes feels like they’re the “in-between” crowd – wanting to incorporate health and wellness, wanting to look and feel great, but not necessarily able (or willing) to cut out all of their vices. You know who you are. I know I’m not the only one! I want to look good but I’m not always motivated to hit the gym. I want to eat healthy but I might sometimes accidentally have a Diet Sunkist and Swedish Fish (and by sometimes I might mean like every day).  I want balance and to be well-rested but I might just need a night out with a cocktail. Or three.

I like to call up til now my R&D stage, and in that time I've found my very own “just right” combo. It means I can have fun in all the ways I want, and not feel like a fraud by incorporating natural solutions into almost every area of my life and my family’s. And yes, those that have known me forever used to laugh in disbelief when they heard that this high-strung, hyped-up city girl was leaning in to these new, seemingly hippie-ish habits. But people, the whole point is that you don’t have to live a life of all or nothing. It’s ok if you're not a fitness junkie. That doesn’t mean you're destined to be totally unhealthy and live on Taco Bell for the rest of your life. Which maybe I used to do. Yes, even if you're not a total wellness zealot, you can still bring natural remedies like essential oils (my obsession) into your life and home.

There are a lot of philosophical discussions these days about having it all, and the truth is, it just means different things to different people. And I think that when it comes to your own personal lifestyle, you can have all of the things you want.  Just don't fall into the trap of feeling like you’re not living up to anyone else’s expectations. Be who you are! Be yourself! Be hip, healthy and happy!
